About the Author.

'Cause I was born to be the baby girl without a chance, the victim of circumstance, the one who ought to give up but she's just too hard-headed.  With gentle hands and the heart of a fighter, I'm a survivor.

I posted the above picture and lyrics from Reba's Survivor on my Instagram late one night this weekend, because those words, that song? I can definitely relate.  I've written about why I look the way I do here, if you are interested, but I am so much more than that.

My name is Meghan with a 'g' and an 'h' as one of my instructors in college called me.

I'm 22 and single.

I live in a city that is countryesque(yep totally made that word up) that I have loved since I was a teenager visiting my dad every other weekend.

Country music is what plays as the soundtrack of my life, I love Johnny Cash thanks to my Grandpa, George Strait thanks to my aunt and uncle, Garth Brooks thanks to my stepmom & pretty much any newer country as well.

I have an awesome family, I've got an older stepbrother and a smattering of younger steps & halves, and one "real" brother as well.  We were raised to believe that family was family regardless of how we were connected.

I gave my life to Jesus when I was 12.  Doesn't mean my life is perfect or even easy.

I've had the same job since I graduated high school, was meant to be a college job while I became a court reporter, school isn't still around, but I still love my job most days.

I love love and am a hopeless romantic.

My closest friends are just an extension of my family.  You mess with them, you best be ready to deal with me.  I'm loyal to a fault.

Writing is my anti-drug and my dream is to have a bestselling book, blogging is one of my favorite ways to share myself with the world on my terms.

I hope you'll grab a cup of coffee or a can of Dew or whatever strikes your fancy and stay a while :)

Happy Labor day everyone!

  1. It sounds as though you lead a pretty blessed life, Meghan! (And we have the love of country music in common -- although, I haven't always loved it! LOL). It is very nice to "meet" you & I look forward to "getting to know" you better throughout this blogtember challenge! It should be quite fun! :D

  2. Family is important in my culture too. You lose friends but you'll always have your family with you. Wishing you a lovely long weekend! :)
