21 things I've learned in 21 years.

Actually, now it's more like 21 years, 3 months and 21 days, but y'know, who's counting?

Thanks to my best friend, Jayme for this idea!

1. Your sister can be your best friend or worst enemy, and you can and will flip flop between the two many times during the day.

2.  Naps are a good thing, scratch that, they are a great thing.  Take them as often as you are offered them.

3. Spend as much time with your grandparents as you can, because too soon, they will  be gone.

4. Don't be too proud to say you're sorry.  Or ask for forgiveness.

5. Stand for something you believe in, or you will fall for anything.

6. It's okay to say no.

7. Music speaks when words fail.

8. It's much better to have a few genuine friends than a group of fake friends.

9. Live your life full of oh wells instead of what ifs.

10.  Enjoy the small moments, they often make the biggest memories.

11. It's okay to have an opinion, it's not okay to attack another person if theirs is different than yours.

12. Think before you speak, because once something is said, it can't be unsaid.

13. Don't burn bridges, you never know when you'll need a person's help in the future.

14. Listen to your gut, it's right 95% of the time.

15. Love your life.

16.  To tie in with #8, if you find one person that you can trust completely as a best friend, you are quite blessed.

17.  Don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't.

18. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.

19. Coffee is always a good idea.

20. Let your loved ones know how much you love them as much as possible, you never know when it's the last time you'll be able to say it.

21. Country music is always a good idea!

It Sure is Monday.

I have absolutely nothing interesting to write about today, the only fun thing I did this weekend was go to the fair, otherwise I was working, and this was probably the most stressful weekend I've had since starting three years ago.  So I thought I would do a fun get to know you, here are some random facts about me, type of post!

Senior pictures--4 years ago..

1) The room has to be completely dark, and my closet and door shut for me to sleep.

2) I fall asleep easier if Mady's in her bunk below mine.

3)I love seeing the clock read 12:34

4) I hate the number 66, because my grandpa died unexpectedly at 66, and I hate seeing the number.

5) Likewise sorta, when I see the number 1788, it reminds me of my other grandparents because that's the last four of their cell number.

6) Country music is the soundtrack that plays in the background of my life.

7)I always have at least three tabs open in chrome, right now I have 8.

8) My cousins are more like brothers and sisters to me than cousins, at least the ones I'm close with.

9) Army Wives and Nashville are my two favorite shows, Big Brother is my favorite summer show.

10) I'm the overly proud daughter of a police officer & reading things like this article, make me even prouder & I get teary-eyed reading them!

Also, it should be noted & celebrated that Jenn at Munchkinland Designs has been in business for FOUR years & is having an awesome giveaway to celebrate, go check it out!

One More Day?

I'm sure many of you have heard the song "One More Day" by Diamond Rio, if not, click play above and take a listen.  Whenever I would hear the song, I would say without a doubt, that I would take that extra day with any of my loved ones that have passed away.

But then I had a dream last night & it got me thinking would I really do it? Would I really be able to spend more time with the ones I loved, knowing that I would have to say goodbye all over again?

The dream went like this, my Grandma had passed away, we were at her funeral and it was open casket and for whatever reason we had like cloth diaper things that we had spit on to get them wet, and my cousin Amanda and I were up viewing her body and we wiped her face and hands with our cloth diaper things and she wakes up(obviously not dead!) and says hey what's happening? Then my dream cuts to me walking my dog and it gets really stormy really quickly and we get sucked into a tornado & I do the whole duck and cover thing they teach in school and the tornado puts me safely down in a field next to my grandma's house, so I walk into her house and my mom is sitting there and she asks me if I'm happy that we get another chance with Grandma and I say yes, but then my dream self questions it internally and how hard it will be when we have to say goodbye to her again.

& now it has me really thinking, if I could have another day with my grandma or grandpa or my aunt diana, would I take it? Would I be able to handle having to say goodbye again? My Aunt Jenny made a great point when she said she didn't think she would be able to do it again, the goodbyes would be too hard,  & I think I have to agree with her.  I hold on to all my great memories of my grandparents and cherish them, and now that they are watching down on me.

If you could have another day with a loved one that's died, would you take it?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thursday Thursday.

One more day til Friday, whoop whoop!

I thought I'd just share a few random Thursday thoughts today.

(one)
button
One of the sweetest girls I know in blogland, Kenz is celebrating her one year blogiversary & is having a giveaway & she asked me to be a part of it, and of course I said YES!

(two)

My aunt & cousins are down visiting again, we're having lots of fun of course! We're laying by the pool & then going to Cascade Bay next week.  We always laugh a lot, so I enjoy having them here.

(three)

It's been hotter than all get out here, and I've been spending as much time in the water as I can.  I hung out with one of my friends from school and we drank and swam in her pool. So much fun.

So this wasn't much of a post, but I just wanted to update you all on the goings on in my life :D

Thinking about:
 Life.
Reading: The blogs I'm behind on!

Just finished:
Mom and I listened to Deeper Than the Dead on our way to and from Bemidji,
Craving: an iced white peppermint mocha.  I'll get one on my way home.
Wondering: when communication and relationships stopped being two way roads?
Finished: with my iced coffee I brought from home this morning.

One Person.

"Hi I'm Karen & I'll be your favorite CSM."

She was so right, and she has become SO much more than just my favorite CSM(Customer Service Manager) at work.

She has become another mom to me, not that I don't have an awesome mom & stepmom, but Karen is my biggest support system at work & outside of work as well.

It's been said that in a world of people telling you that you can't, all it takes to change your view is somebody telling you that you can.

Karen is that somebody for me.

She inspires me to do my best each and every day, she gives the best hugs and is always willing to let me vent & she listens to my opinions.

To Karen, thank you for always believing in me & always having my back and being another mom to me.
I'll always be your little bit & squeezebox & your unofficial third daughter.
Love you!

I just hope someday, somewhere, I can be that somebody someone looks up to & says, because of you, I didn't quit, I believed I could do it & I did it.  Thank you.

So who's that one person for you?

I confess...

I confess....

that I have become obsessed with 7th Heaven, again.  Why didn't anybody point out how good looking Matt & Kevin were to me when I was watching the show when it first aired, oh yeah, I was only a young teen.  But holy wow, they are good looking!

that I enjoy playing with the chain in my mouth that the oral surgeon put in there.  It's fun.  I'm not sure my ortho will appreciate me playing with it with my tongue, but guess what I don't care.

that I'm writing this post at 1:30a while watching 7th heaven and playing with the chain in my mouth.

that storms totally lack the excitement they used to have.  & I hate that.

That I still cry sometimes when it storms because of Tim, Paul & Carl.

I also confess that I never realized how much three men I never met could have such an impact on my life.

I confess that I don't know if I will ever be able to watch the last three seasons of storm chasers without crying.

I confess that I didn't mean for this post to be all about how I'm not really liking storms anymore.

I confess that somedays I just want to withdraw and see if  anybody notices.

I confess that I really am in a chocolate & food in general mood.  #yupitsthatweek

I can't believe I just confessed that.

I confess that I definitely feel like Lucy Camden most days.

I confess that I am probably way too excited about the new blanket my mom bought mom yesterday afternoon, and I confess that I'm ending this now before I confess something way too personal.  Oh wait.  Read up four.  That's personal.

Meghan In Manistique.

I started to write out an apology for my absence, but then I realized, no, true friends and readers will be okay whenever and however often I post, be it twice a day or twice a month.  I've just been really busy with nothing more than just normal life things like work & all that fun kind of stuff.

So remember how I went to Michigan the second week in June? No? Well I did.  My mom's family & my aunt's family rented a cabin on the Upper Peninsula in a town called Manistique, and instead of writing a ton, I'm just going to share some pictures that were taken while we there!

We had a lot of fun, I didn't know what to expect when we decided to all rent one cabin, but I had so much fun & I can't wait to go on vacation with everybody again!

linking up with Meg for Mingle Monday!
