I confess..

I haven't confessed in a while, so I thought I'd give it a go this week once again.

I confess that Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy just came up on my music app and I still can sing every word and did so proudly.

I confess that I'm in that weird state of mind where I want summer to last forever, but at the same time SO ready for the fall.

I confess that I really do not want to go to my orthodontist appointment tomorrow but I have to go anyway.

I confess that I cuddled a kitty and I liked it.  My sister has two cats--Frank and Max and they both were so cute!

I confess that I can handle my sister's friends in small doses, but by the end of last night, I was ready to have my alone time.

I confess that this is the first post on my new computer and I'm working on getting everything transferred over from my old one!

What's something you are confessing today?

Coffee Date|8.8.16

If we were meeting for coffee|I'd be sipping on a iced peppermint white chocolate mocha with no whip because as much as I love cool whip & redi-whip, the coffee whip makes my stomach hate me.

Once we got settled| I'd share how the first week of August was going and ask you how yours was. I'd tell you how I felt that mine has started out awesome and that I just couldn't believe that my baby sister is now 13!

I'd share how I've started tracking my goals on my phone and just like crossing items off of a to-do list, I'd tell you how I love marking things done on my app.

I'd then get all giddy when I tell you about how I have made it a priority to write for 30 minutes each day and tell you how excited I get when the words flow out of me like lava, but have come to appreciate the days where it takes me time to get into my rhythm and I just stare at the blinking cursor on my screen.

I'd share my nervous excitement about having one of my Lynn-Mom's friends slash mentors from before she met my Dad come into town and how I'm nervous about spilling my heart and prayers to her because my heart and life has a messy past that I'm not sure I can just share with anyone. I'd ask for your prayers and see if you had anything that you needed prayer on,

We'd end with a hug and the promise to not let it be so long before we meet up again.

Teenager.

Guys, my youngest sister is offically a teenager as of 7:28 pm tonight! That's crazy to me! She was born just 3 or 4 days after I had my tonsils out when I was 11. She can be a pain in my butt, but I absolutely love her to death. She's smart, but can also be a smart-ass, but have you met me she comes by that honestly ;)

I remember when she was probably no more than 2 or 3 we were on our way home from my Grandma's house and she had spilled her chicken fries that we had stopped to get since it was dinner time and she pipes up with "Splendid, this is absolutely splendid." What 3 year old do you know that can not only say splendid, but use it correctly? Not many.

Most of my siblings have a nickname that I've given them over the years and for whatever reason I started calling Olivia Babe and it has just stuck.

This weekend she's out in Indiana swimming in Nationals and as her big sister I couldn't be more proud of her.

Babe,

I hope you have an AMAZING birthday and the next time I'm home we will have to do something special just you and I!

Love you,
Megs ♥

Who are you?

People probably know the basics about me, y'know what I'm talking about, my name/age/a few things I like and dislike, but what about the little idiosyncrasies that make me me?

-I love my handwriting and have a favorite set of pens that I write with.

-My spirit animals are Reba and Miranda Lambert. If I can be a mix of them when I grow up I think that would be pretty bomb.

-One of the best things my elementary school did for us was make us take type to learn, I'm still a pretty competent typist which helped when I was going to school for court reporting.

-My sister Mady is someone I look up to. She's confident and smart and has a don't mess with me attitude.

-I can be sassy and sarcastic, but I truly would give you the shirt off of my back.

-I'm very trusting and loyal once I let you into my circle.

-I'm not the best with change, but I'm working on it.

-I take my daily allergy pill with my morning cup of coffee.

-My little sister Liv may drive me absolutely nuts at times, but she reminds me so much of me at her age.

-My younger brother Ryan is probably one of my favorite people to spend time, but he can also make me want to pull my hair out.

-I used to hate automatic flushing toilets but now it drives me nuts when a public place doesn't have them.

What's an idiosyncrasy of yours?

Currently|August 2016

I haven't done a Currently post in a while & saw that Kelly had posted hers today, so I figured I would follow suit!

Hearting – my morning routine. I read for a bit and then try to get a solid 30 minutes of writing in with my coffee after taking my allergy pill. We may only be 3 days in, but I'm kicking butt and taking names in August.
Watching – Reba! The actress that plays Barbra Jean graduated from my high school, so that's my claim to fame ha!
Exploring – My  two main characters as well as their friends in Handwritten Love. I'm loving my writing time each morning.
Creating – Plans for my next week that I'm off of work. I have a sleep study consult on Tuesday and an orthodontist appointment on Thursday, as well as getting together with one of my Lynn-Mom's friends that she wants me to meet. Other than that, I'm free to do what I please and I'm pretty pumped about that.
Eating – My breakfast this morning was a leftover cookie from my dinner last night. #noragrets

What a Weekend.

This weekend was supposed to be pretty low-key, but somehow it turned into a kind of chaotic weekend, but I survived!

Friday really wasn't anything too spectacular, it was filled with laundry and just fun adult things like tidying up my apartment and paying bills. YAY being an adult. HA!

Saturday was my favorite day of the weekend and where my weekend was supposed to end, but more on that in a minute. I took Hannah Brencher's writing intensive and I learned so much and I'm putting so many practices already into place, so if you ever thought about taking a class like hers, DO IT. SO much knowledge and such great community and creatives in the class and now in our private Facebook group. After her class, I ended up back at Walmart getting a few random groceries otherwise known as chocolate and ice cream because being a girl is SO much fun! I ended the night with some Dateline and Reba, which is one of my favorite comedies that I've ever watched. Saturday also was filled with an all day text conversation with Jayme about throwback music, our friendship, the presidential election and goalsetting and goal go getting.

Sunday was back to work...well for an hour or so.  I was at work for about an hour and then I felt a lightning bolt sensation go from the top of my right shoulder all the way down to my hand. Then it started shaking violently and it went numb and then a whole slew of other things started happening and I ended up at Urgent Care for the majority of the late afternoon/early evening. It turned out to be something unserious at the moment, but could possibly become serious if it happens again. X-rays showed a part of my vertabrae is for lack of a better term smushed and this is really the first symptom I've had so we aren't too worried but if other things start popping up, then we will be looking into MRI and corrective measures. The doctor at urgent care is one of my favorites and one I've seen at least three times over the last year due to other ailments and now it's kind of a running joke between us. He's a great guy and made sure to explain everything to me and gave me all of my options in a way I understood them.

Today is the start of a new week and a new month. I'm excited to see what August has in store for me!
