Fainting Fudge.

Before I get into today's post, I just wanted to say I hope you guys all had a great Christmas, I got to spend both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with extended family on my stepmom's side and we had a ton of fun :)

Now onto the fainting fudge story!

I was a freshman in college, so about 3 years ago now, and my Grandma was home for Christmas, we were baking together and Mady was at her dad's, so it was just her and I.  We decided we were going to do fudge, so we were prepping all the ingredients, chopping the nuts, mixing the batter, y'know how it goes, anyways, we had just poured the first pan and were about to put the pan in the oven, when I went to put

Yes, I know this is two days late, hopefully Lauren and Hayley forgive me!

Girl Between the Lines Link up

The prompt for Wednesday was your go-to meal, well Lynn & I have been having this almost daily these last few weeks(are we the only ones like that? Where we eat something for weeks on end for lunch or whatever and then don't eat it again for 6 months?) I was going to do our Christmas morning go-to, but then I thought I'd share this goodness!

It's a Buffalo Chicken Dip Quesadilla.

Take two tortillas, we like the frescados burrito style flour ones

Then get your buffalo chicken dip ready, we buy stuff that's already pre-made at Wally World, but I'm sure you cooking inclined peeps could whip up your own.  Spread this on one of your tortillas.

Then we add either shredded cheese or bleu cheese crumbles or both.  Put your other tortilla on top, then put it in the microwave for about 15 seconds(this helps it come together better.) Now if you wanted a softer quesadilla you could just warm it up in the microwave for longer, but we like ours a little crispier, so Lynn will put a little EVOO in a skillet and then will get it to our desired crispiness.

This is quite easy and really delicious, it does have a little kick to it though :)

Remember When...Best Cousin Friend Edition.

Spencer and I have been a part of each other's lives since he was born, because we're cousins.  Within the last four or five years, we've become best friends.  He honestly knows me better than anyone else, so I thought I'd take everyone down a little memory lane, so here we go :)

Probably right around the time of this picture, we were celebrating Christmas at my grandma and grandpa's house and Spencer wanted me to share one of my toys, probably my Barney or BJ or Baby Bop, and I didn't want to, and I think I may have actually hit him & my Mom made me go sit in time out and after that I had to hug him and say I was sorry, my mom got it all on home video.

We got older, both our parents went through divorces, mine in the late 90's his in the mid-00's.  We drifted apart a little bit because of that I think, but then we really started getting close again right around the time his dad got remarried.

In preparation for this post, I went back and read our facebook conversation back from starting in like 2010 and oh my gosh, we had the most random and at times very deep conversations.

He goes to school out at Regent in Virginia Beach and I miss him a lot, but we try and get together when he's home on breaks and for the summer.

& we always have our sleepovers and hangouts here except at his grad party, my house is his third house behind his mom's and his dad's, he might even put my house in the middle there.

We like to quote Easy A, and he loves his bed when he comes to visit.  Our hide-away bed with a shaggy pink blanket thing.

So without further ado, our relationship summed up through texting :)(yes there are a lot. #sorrynotsorry)

1//a conversation about a new service that would be perfect for somebody we both know. 2//Trying to play the upsexy joke on him.  3//Trying to figure out who someone he saw at my store was.

1//A Mady moment I had about George W and George H.W./Robin Williams. 2//Cue the waterworks when he sent this to me.  3//Inside jokes.

All 3//A conversation Mady had with him through me.

1//FYI, Sugar Daddy's is not a gum ball shop or an ice cream place.  You take your own assumptions at it.  2//The continuation of the first one, yes we went from Sugar Daddy's to Jesus in one fell swoop.  & he's an only child, we must forgive him because he doesn't know how to share.  3//A serious moment turned fun, because we quoted our fave easy A quote :)

1//Just wanting him to understand he means a lot to me.  2//The joys of being young twenty-somethings who are single.  3//Our plans to grow old together.  & being nursing home nightmares.

1//This conversation is probably my favorite along with the John conversation and the Nutella convo below.  2//He's a former Target employee and I'm a Walmart employee, I had to remind him how we do things in the blue and khaki.  3//We have decided that when Spencer runs away to India he'll bring me back a mail order groom and I'm still invited to his mail order Bride's wedding.

1//Sound advice from Spencer about my pre-Keurig coffee probs.  2//Talking about Spencer's momma, how I'm her favorite honorary niece(his mom and dad are divorced and I still talk with his mom!) 3//My rascist Iphone.

1//Divorce with benefits anyone? 2//Who would play us in the movie that is going to be made about our lives.  3//Him being dramatic cause I didn't tell him how I missed him.

1&2//The relationship status of him and Nutella and me and Nutella.  3//My real life Ted and that one time that my grandpa was going to be my bouncer at the service desk.

1//The end of the dramatic conversation from two up.  & talking about our grandparents anniversary.

7 Reasons I Won't Be Winning Daughter of the Year

-I make my parents wake up way earlier than they'd like to bring me to work because I don't drive.  Also I make them get up out of their warm beds when I work til 11pm.  Just because you're forty now doesn't mean you have to be in bed by 10, Lynn :)

-I like to take long showers, and the hotter the better.  That means they don't get much hot water.  But they often use their jacuzzi and "forget" to tell me so I'm stuck in an ice cube tundra of a shower.

-While showering I blast my Pandora station, and sing to it as loudly as I possibly can.  "Gotta go now baby if I hurry I can still make CHEYENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNE." That's my beautiful singing voice btdubs.

-I can't fold my Dad's uniform pants, no matter how many times he shows me how.  Like this, do you see this? Fold them here.

-I blog and they're afraid when I mention that I want to meet a blog friend that they're really a hairy 55 year old man who wants to be a mass murderer, although I think when my Mom met Jayme this summer it eased her fears a little bit.  Hopefully

-I believe it's perfectly acceptable to fluff the laundry three or four times before actually folding it which my dad always says, "Meghan just because you fluff it or transfer it from the washer to the dryer, doesn't mean you are doing laundry."

-Because I like to mock them incessantly, but I promise it's all in good fun, yes dad, we know you have feelings too!

*Is there anyone else who comes up with their blog ideas in the most random of places? I thought of this in the shower Monday night...

Girl Between the Lines Link up

this week's prompt was your favorite things about the holidays.

I'm sharing my top thee memories/traditions from Christmas/New Years.

#3
SANTA!
When we were younger, my Grandpa's friend Barry would dress up as Santa for us & he'd hand out a present to each of us, my favorite from these years was probably a weather calendar(yep, I'm a weather nerd.  Especially tornadoes!) Last year, my Grandpa was Santa for us & then went over to Barry's and did Santa for them.

#2
NYE with my Mom.
My parents are divorced, have been since I was about 8, and when I was in school, we'd swap who we were with for Christmas/New Years, now that I'm older and have to work, I always try and go to my mom's for New Years.

#1
Christmas Eve Pick-up.

I work retail, so the first two years I was at my job, I had to work until mid-evening on Christmas Eve.  My family(my grandparents, parents and younger brother and sister) took it upon themselves to come embarrass me when they picked me up. The first year, it was just yelling my name and WOO when they parked in front of the store, but the second year, they got the big guns out, had bells and whistles and started it as soon as they came into the parking lot, my sister and brother may or may not have been hanging out the sunroof :) This is my favorite tradition that I have as an adult, just because I was so disappointed last year when I had off and I didn't get to take part in this.

What's your favorite Christmas traditions/holiday traditions? Link up and let everyone know!

Christmas season 2007 or '08 I'd say.  My great aunt and uncle live on a farm up near Hinckley, and they do sleigh rides each year, this year it must not have snowed very much..

Christmas 2009, I may or may not have cropped my two younger brothers out of this picture.  One of my favorite Christmas traditions is going to pick out and chop down our tree!

You Know You Work Customer Service When...

I've been rocking blue and khaki for the last 3.5 years, and 2.5 of those years I have been service desk, so without further ado, you know you work customer service when...

-you've become a master at biting your tongue and speaking to your co-workers through facial expressions.

-you know what supervisor you want to come answer your questions, because they each will say yes at different times.

-you can successfully tell a co-worker what's going on with one return, help a customer on the phone and in line all at the same time.

-you can't stand when a forgotten bag is brought up.

-you will scream if departments don't come up and get their returns right this second.

-policies are meant to be broken.  Sure you can return that dvd player you bought a year ago!

-you can do returns in your sleep.

-it's the end of the world when you can't get your drawer to balance.

-you love your coworkers and they've become another dysfunctional family.
