We See You.

Before I get into the nitty gritty of this post, I hope all of the mothers reading this had a happy mother's day! The only one of my 3 moms I got to see yesterday was my work momma for a little while, but she ended up going home early because she wasn't feeling well. I got to see my Lynn-Mom today though, so that makes me happy. I'm hoping to see my Momma soon, it's been too long, but I digress.

I am ALWAYS proud of my Dad and our last name, but no more proud than I am during this week each year. This is Police Week.

I'm not saying I don't worry, because I do, there's always a small part of me that is constantly worried about his protection, but I know that he is fully capable & does amazing at his job. He was born to be a police officer, I believe that 150%,

I'm not saying that I don't ball my fists when I read the ignorant comments, because I do, I totally do & I have to tell myself each time I see the comments about police news stories not to read them, but confession, I still read them! & they still upset me.

But I'm saying that I will always be proud & grateful to be the daughter of a law enforcement officer & that I will always believe that police lives matter,

I Own Me.

So I saw this on Eat, Drink & Be Mary last week & I absolutely loved it, so I'm stealing the idea, here's what I'm owning up to:

-I would be so lost without the trifecta of my Lynn-Mom, work momma & my mom. They each bring something wonderful to my life & I can't wait to celebrate each of their roles in my life on Sunday for Mother's Day.

-I will never turn down a chance to listen to 90s country music.

-I hate that my best friend & I live so far apart. But I love that our friendship knows no miles.

-If I don't blow dry my hair, I look like Medusa, it only takes a few minutes, but it's not on my list of favorite things to do.

-When I'm in the shower, I shampoo my hair twice and condition it once.

-I can only tolerate my sister's boyfriend in small doses, I'm learning to recognize my limits and speak up when I need my alone time instead of putting myself last. #owningit

-I'm pretty sure I'm an ambivert, but I've leaned more towards introvert since moving out, I need my alone time to recharge my batteries. The only time I'm more extroverted is when I'm at work and I'm around people all day.

Live Original 4.

Week 4 & it's actually on time, look at me :)

Chapter 7--Act of Random Kindness

1. Has someone ever done an act of random kindness for you? What was it, and how did it make you feel?

The guy at Starbucks a few months back gave me a free venti drink after I accidentally ordered a grande. It made me feel really good, that he cared about me and wanted me to have a good day!

2. Is there someone at your school or in your family who would really appreciate an act of random kindness? Who is it, and what could you do for that person?
I'd really love to do something random and kind for Mady, who just moved into her own place on Friday!

3. What can you do anonymously to bless or encourage someone?

I'd love to do something with Hannah Brencher's organization More Love Letters!

4. List three ways you could make someone's day today.
-Smile at everyone I come in contact with.
-Open the door for people when I'm entering my apartment.
-Stay with Mady while her boyfriend's gone.

Chapter 8--Shake the Hate

1. Is there someone in your life who gets a lot of hate? How can you stand up for that person?

My work momma used to get a lot of unnecessary hate before she stepped down & I always made sure that if people were talking bad about her, I added something good or shut the bad mouthers down.

2. How can you start talking to yourself different when people hate on you?

I try and remember a saying that I have a print of which is I am the daughter of a King who is not moved by the world for my God is with me and goes before me. I do not fear because I am HIS!

3. Think about some people who may be causing you trouble. If you have not done anything wrong to them, what can you start doing right?

Right now I don't think anyone is causing me trouble, knock on wood!

4. If you have been sarcastic in the past, I challenge you to be funny without being hurtful. What can you do to take the challenge?

I personally think you can be sarcastic without being hurtful, as long as the sarcasm isn't about another person. #sorrynotsorry.

May Goals.

I haven't done a goals post in ages, so I figured it would be a great idea to do one for May so it will hopefully keep me accountable for this month!

Read 3 books//I am so behind on my book reading it's not even funny! I miss curling up with a good book & getting lost in the story!

Get & keep goodreads updated//I don't know why this is so difficult for me to do!

Put $20 into my concert fund//I'm going up north for Moondance Country Jam in the middle of June & I want some spending money!

Just write//Just like with reading, I haven't sat down and written in way too long and I miss the way my characters talk to me as I write them.
