A Letter to Me
Dear 16 year old Meghan,
This is the Meghan from 2015. I'm 23 and I know how hard it is to picture yourself at this age, but you are here. You made it through all the crap that went down your junior and senior years, you are stronger because of it. 18 was a year of transition for you, but it was a good year none the less. 19 was a year of growth. 20 was the year you lost your grandma, and you'll still miss her like crazy 3 years later as you are writing this letter. 21 was the year of the lie, I learned a lot from 21, but I wouldn't wish that kind of year on my worst enemy. 22 was the year that you moved out on your own and though you were a little scared, you can look back on it and be SO glad that you took that step. As you're writing this letter, you are just over five months into 23 & I'm not sure what you'll think of this year as you look back. I hope you smile more than you frown, laugh more than you cry, help more than you hurt and lean on your support system on the hard days.
Quit your job, you'll regret not spending your junior and senior year weekends with your dad and everyone at his house.
Love you & I'll see you in 7 years!
xo.
23 year old Meghan.

I'm All about the Fall.
Day 8: Tell us about your favorite season. Why is it your favorite and what does it say about you?
My favorite season is most definitely fall. I love the cooler temperatures because after the overwhelming stifling heat and humidity of July & August, I'm just ready for the the 50s and 60s that are typical of a Minnesota fall instead of the 80s and 90s that are reminiscent of our summers.
I like the fact that its cool enough where I can just where my favorite hoodie and a cute pair of jeans but not too cold where I'm having to bundle up and you can only see my eyes as I walk to work.
I love the pumpkin spice lattes and the bonfires, the changing leaves and the time of year, where we're almost to the holiday season, but not quite. Usually Thanksgiving is the end of our Fall(if we are lucky!) and I absolutely love Thanksgiving!
What's your favorite season?

Behind Meghan Anna.
Day 7: Tell Us about Your Blog Name. What does it mean?
This space on the world wide web holds a special place in my heart. As an incoming freshman in the late summer/early fall of 2010, I started this blog under the name They Call Her Meghan. I shared day to day tidbits, didn't post consistently and was just using it as an online journal of sorts.
It was before Pinterest and Instagram were things and life was much simpler.
Through the years, this blog has grown and matured, as I have. I tried to make my blog an "it blog" with Pinterest-worthy content and I realized that just wasn't me.
In February of this year, I rebranded as Meghan Anna. My first and middle name, I absolutely love my name & the blog that carries it. They Call Her Meghan was named after I moved out of my mom's to my dad's and where I was basically the new kid in school, people only knew me as Mady and Ryan's sister or Randy & Lynn's daughter, and not that I'm not proud of being their sister and daughter, I needed a place where people knew me as Meghan first and those things second.
Meghan Anna came about at exactly the right time, I was almost 23 in February and my life had been in a period of transition for about a year and I was finally starting to feel like I had some sort of grasp on being a grown-up with a lot of prayers and help from my family.
It may not be an it blog or Pinterest-worthy, but it holds the ups and downs of the last five years and I truly wouldn't change that for the world.
So grateful for this space and the friends I have made through it & the stories I have shared here.
also linking up with meg for mingle monday & emily for grateful heart.

Her Favorite Dress is Her Faded Blue Jeans.
My style can be summed up in a simple Garth Brooks lyric, "her favorite dress is her faded blue jeans"
That being said, I think my style has evolved at least a little bit since high school, if it falls into the business casual dynamic and still is comfortable and breathable, I'll at least try to wear it. Here are a few of my favorite pieces from my stylin' board on Pinterest!

Music Shuffle
Day 5 prompt for Blogtember is: Put your Iphone/Itunes on shuffle and see what comes up!
Why yes, all of my shuffled songs are country, what can I say? I love country music! I'm not a bit surprised that Garth showed up twice in my list, surprised a little on how much it favored male singers to females though!
1//Love Without End Amen--George Strait
2//Off the Beaten Path--Justin Moore
3//Honey I'm Home--Shania Twain
4//She's Every Woman--Garth Brooks
5//Why God Made Love Songs--Joel Crouse
6//Little Red Wagon--Miranda Lambert
7//First Time Feeling--Dan+Shay
8//I Drive Your Truck--Lee Brice
9//The Beaches of Cheyenne--Garth Brooks
10//Lights of My Hometown--Brantley Gilbert

Passionate.
The prompt for day 4 is what are you passionate about?
Here's one of the things you should know about me right away, I am very all or nothing, which can be good and bad, don't get me wrong, but if I love something or am passionate about it, I love it with all of my heart and I put a ton of passion into everything I want to do.
I'm passionate about Jesus' love and all that He has done for me.
I'm passionate about writing a novel that changes lives.
I'm passionate about my family and close friends.
I'm passionate about helping each person realize their true worth, especially young women.
I'm passionate about books and good music,
What is something you're passionate about?

My Blog Board!
Day 3 of the Blogtember Challenge! Prompt for today is: Create a collage or mood/inspiration board that describes your blog!
All of the images found in this collage can also be found on my That's So Meghan board on Pinterest!
The first quote describes how I feel about my blog, I know I'm not the only one who goes back and reads old posts right? I feel like when I go back and read old posts I rediscover the things I've loved before and the things I continue to love, This blog has also helped me to find myself in a way I think too. I am one of those people that it helps me to talk or write things out to find my solution or reason for doing what I do if that makes sense?
I've been blogging for five years and that second quote sums up how I feel about this blog, I've only touched on my life here and I want to keep digging deeper and sharing more of my heart and soul.
& I found the third quote and this is pretty much how I feel about what I share on here as well as how I live my life. I'm awkward and imperfect, but I am also authentic. What you see here is what you get.
& the bottom quote by the amazing Kenny Chesney, I share a little of my life here, but mostly it's what I love.
What would you share on your mood board for your blog?

My Ideal Day.
Day 2// Describe your ideal day, where would you go and what would you do?
I would start the morning curled up with Cooper in the guest bed at my parents, I would have breakfast and coffee with my Lynn-Mom before spending the morning catching up on my blog reading and write a little bit in my novel.
I would then grab lunch with my work momma, we would make it a Taco Johns day & just catch up on our lives and share a couple remember when stories from each of our lives, we have been friends for five years and I cherish our lunches and hold them in high importance.
My grandparents would pick me up, we'd grab ice cream at Daddy O's, as they shared the latest in their lives and I'd share what was on my heart with them as well.
I'd swing by my sister's apartment and we'd go rollerblading on the path behind her place and then she'd persuade me to stick around and have a girl's night and watch a couple chick flicks.
I'd crash at her place instead of making her drive me home, even if it's only a five minute drive & we'd have girl talk late into the night.
Sounds like a pretty awesome day to me!

Meghan Anna Defined.
I'm really excited to be joining Bailey again for her 2nd annual Blogtember challenge, it's how I found her blog last year & I absolutely adore her and love her heart and outlook!
If it's not obvious, my name is Meghan, I'm a young 20-something who's classy, sassy & a whole lot of y'know the rest :)
I've been blogging for the past 5+ years and writing for as long as I can remember. I'm hoping to have my first novel out within the next year, it's the first in a series, ask me & I'll tell you all about it, it's one of my babies.
Speaking of babies, I don't have any of the human variety, but have three of the four-legged furry variety.
Cooper is my weim, that's pictured above, he lives with my Dad & Lynn-Mom. & if I had a favorite, he'd be it. He just gets me. #crazydogladyalert
Leader is my beagle, and he's my baby that lives at my mom's, he's getting older but still gets overly excited when I get home to see him.
& this is the "baby" of my babies Chloe. She's very rambunctious and high maintenance but also very loving.
My family is very important to me & I honestly don't know what I'd do without them. My sister Mady is one of my closest friends & I talk to my Lynn-Mom almost every day via text or phone call. My momma is one of my biggest supporters and I hope that all of my younger siblings know that I'd do just about anything for them.
The two people that know me better than anyone are Jayme & Karen. I met Jayme through an old online diary site & we've been friends for the last almost five years. Karen is my work momma who I've known just over five years. I love them both and would be lost without either one of them in my life.
Along with writing, I absolutely love to read. Music is something that is a constant in my life as well. I'll listen to just about anything once, but my favorite is country, but I won't turn down blasting Eminem either.
I'm a country girl through and through, I'm made for small towns and big families. I try to laugh more than I cry, I'm loyal to a fault & one of the sweetest people you'll meet until I feel like you're hurting my friends or family, then my claws come out. I believe the best love story isn't romeo and juliet, but grandma and grandpa growing old together.
My faith and relationship with God is my number one and I truly would be lost without it.
This is me, Meghan Anna.
