It's OK!

Time for the weekly It's OK!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's ok....

to be super excited that one of your besties is coming over to hang out for the first time in a couple of months!

to spend $100 at Wal-Mart even after your discount since it's for Christmas presents!

to finally be getting a new mac battery after 6 or 7 months of having to be plugged in wherever you go!

to squeal with delight, when you log in and find you have a new follower!

to still be obsessed with your Erin Condren planner, a week after you bought it.

to skip your night class because you didn't want to go.

to remind you once again that Neely is under a new URL and that you need to go check her out, it's totally worth it!

to be upset that your grandpa and grandma are leaving in 5 days to go down to AZ and won't be back til December and then go back til April/May.

to have a movie marathon by yourself, 8 seconds and Twister if you are wondering.

to have a date with your bloggy bff while watching Twister & quote the movie line for line on facebook because she lives all the way in NC.

to cry every single time you watch 8 seconds no matter what.

to really hope that Lane doesn't get killed at the end of the movie each time, and each time be disappointed.

to play Mom to your 16 year old newly licensed sister when your Mom is out of town

So what's ok with you this week?

Smalltown USA

When I was first born, I lived in a town about half hour away from the Twin Cities. The same town I actually go to school in now. When I was 7, my parents divorced. My mom and my brother and I moved to a town about 10 minutes from Minneapolis. I was ok with the move and didn't really realize how much I didn't like living that close to the city until I was in my junior high/high school years when I realized how I loved visiting my dad about an hour away from the cities. I didn't realize how much I truly loved it til I moved to my dad's after graduating high school.

I love the small town feel. I am asked often if I would ever move closer to the cities again, and honestly I find hard to say anything other than no. I love my town. I love the way when someone is hurting the whole community gathers around their family. I love the fact that everybody knows everybody. I'm enthralled with the fact that I can tell people who my parents and grandparents are, and nine times out of ten they know who I am referring to, and give me some sort of story or anecdote about them.

I love where I live. I am ten minutes either way from two medium sized cities. My grandparents and aunt and uncle live on the street behind us. I never wonder who would be there for me if something were to happen.

I have noticed living here for the last year and few months how NICE people are around here for the most part. They rarely make you feel like you're a burden and most of the time have a smile for you and a good word to give. It's like the line from the Kenny Chesney song "Boys of Fall" I've got your number, I got your back when your back's against the wall, you mess with one man you got us all.

I am very blessed to call this place home & do not take it for granted.

By the way, this is my first link-up for Pour Your Heart Out.

Life Update

Time for a major life update, I've been kind of absent around these parts.

Twins Game-- The Twins game we went to that my dad was getting honored at was FUN! I got to hang with my grandparents--both sides (: it twas amazingg! They did end up losing though.

Camping-- Camping was really fun as well! Mady & I were accused of being anti-social though. Sorry people, when I have to be social all week at work & school, I need ME time, which some can consider anti-social, but whatevs. Got eaten alive by mosquitoes!

Work-- Work has been going great! I love customer service, well most of the time anyways! I celebrated a year of working at Wal-Mart on the 27th. Crazy to think it's been that long!

Home Life-- With celebrating a year at work, I also celebrated a year of living at home. I don't regret my choice at all. Lynn & Mady are still two of my best friends. Mady & I have stayed up til 1 or 2 a.m watching Army Wives the last two nights. My baby Cooper is growing like a weed. His paws are ginormous & his ears are HUGE! I love him! Over the course of the year, I've wondered a few times what it would be like to live by myself or in dorms, but I quickly realize I would be missing SO much time with my family.

School-- Today is the last day of summer semester. Can I get a hallelujah? Summer semester is WAYY stressful. I'm just glad that I have 18 days off & then have a full semester instead of an 8 week semester that stuffs 19 weeks full of material in.

Customer Service Tales

I was going to write about how my relationship with my step-grandparents has progressed through the eleven or so years I have known them, but all the pictures I was gonna post with it are on Lynn's computer and I'm here at school, so I thought I would give you a few stories I've been a part of since starting up at the service desk almost a month ago.

(one)

Crazy DVD lady

Let me preface this with the fact that we cannot return DVDs,Video Games, CDs that have been opened, unless the customer wants to exchange it for the exact same item because of federal copyright laws.

So knowing that, I had a lady come through and wanted to return the movie Chihuahua, and get a different movie. I explained the copyright law to her, and told her I was sorry & she could have her movie back. So she's like it's still mine right? I said yes, she said okay, ripped the DVD case out of my hands, snaps the DVD out of the case and tries to break it, but is unable to, and then grabs the pen out of my hand, scribbles all over the back of the dvd, and tosses it over the counter into my garbage can.

(two)

Crazy Coupon Lady

This one was only a couple of days ago. It was Thursday. I had a lady come up with her little girl & she looked really pouty. I asked her what I could do for her, she wanted me to accept a $5 off entire purchase coupon, which is one of the ONLY coupons we don't accept. I told her we unfortunately did not accept those types of coupons, and if she wanted to talk to one of my supervisors over, so I called Dee over & she told her the same thing as I was going on my lunch, and she started crying over $5. I mean really?!?! that's a little absurd and obnoxious.

Most days I come home tell Mady & Lynn at least one of these types of stories, and then we all have a good laugh :D

Love my job!!
