A Letter to Me

Brave Love Blog

Dear 16 year old Meghan,

This is the Meghan from 2015. I'm 23 and I know how hard it is to picture yourself at this age, but you are here. You made it through all the crap that went down your junior and senior years, you are stronger because of it. 18 was a year of transition for you, but it was a good year none the less. 19 was a year of growth. 20 was the year you lost your grandma, and you'll still miss her like crazy 3 years later as you are writing this letter.  21 was the year of the lie, I learned a lot from 21, but I wouldn't wish that kind of year on my worst enemy.  22 was the year that you moved out on your own and though you were a little scared, you can look back on it and be SO glad that you took that step.  As you're writing this letter, you are just over five months into 23 & I'm not sure what you'll think of this year as you look back. I hope you smile more than you frown, laugh more than you cry, help more than you hurt and lean on your support system on the hard days.

Quit your job, you'll regret not spending your junior and senior year weekends with your dad and everyone at his house.

Love you & I'll see you in 7 years!

xo.

23 year old Meghan.

I'm All about the Fall.

Brave Love Blog

Day 8: Tell us about your favorite season. Why is it your favorite and what does it say about you?

My favorite season is most definitely fall. I love the cooler temperatures because after the overwhelming stifling heat and humidity of July & August, I'm just ready for the the 50s and 60s that are typical of a Minnesota fall instead of the 80s and 90s that are reminiscent of our summers.

I like the fact that its cool enough where I can just where my favorite hoodie and a cute pair of jeans but not too cold where I'm having to bundle up and you can only see my eyes as I walk to work.

I love the pumpkin spice lattes and the bonfires, the changing leaves and the time of year, where we're almost to the holiday season, but not quite.  Usually Thanksgiving is the end of our Fall(if we are lucky!) and I absolutely love Thanksgiving!

What's your favorite season?

Day 7: Tell Us about Your Blog Name. What does it mean?

This space on the world wide web holds a special place in my heart. As an incoming freshman in the late summer/early fall of 2010, I started this blog under the name They Call Her Meghan. I shared day to day tidbits, didn't post consistently and was just using it as an online journal of sorts.

It was before Pinterest and Instagram were things and life was much simpler.

Through the years, this blog has grown and matured, as I have.  I tried to make my blog an "it blog" with Pinterest-worthy content and I realized that just wasn't me.

In February of this year, I rebranded as Meghan Anna. My first and middle name, I absolutely love my name & the blog that carries it. They Call Her Meghan was named after I moved out of my mom's to my dad's and where I was basically the new kid in school, people only knew me as Mady and Ryan's sister or Randy & Lynn's daughter, and not that I'm  not proud of being their sister and daughter, I needed a place where people knew me as Meghan first and those things second.

Meghan Anna came about at exactly the right time, I was almost 23 in February and my life had been in a period of transition for about a year and I was finally starting to feel like I had some sort of grasp on being a grown-up with a lot of prayers and help from my family.

It may not be an it blog or Pinterest-worthy, but it holds the ups and downs of the last five years and I truly wouldn't change that for the world.

So grateful for this space and the friends I have made through it & the stories I have shared here.

also linking up with meg for mingle monday & emily for grateful heart.

Her Favorite Dress is Her Faded Blue Jeans.

Brave Love Blog

My style can be summed up in a simple Garth Brooks lyric, "her favorite dress is her faded blue jeans"

That being said, I think my style has evolved at least a little bit since high school, if it falls into the business casual dynamic and still is comfortable and breathable, I'll at least try to wear it. Here are a few of my favorite pieces from my stylin' board on Pinterest!
