My Life in Movies.

I was reading through my bloglovin' feed and saw this pop up on Danielle's blog, so I figured I'd give it a go.

1) First Steps: The first film you remember seeing as a kid.
I remember watching Fox and the Hound and Free Willy at my Granny's house. As well as Home Alone 1 & 2.
2) Teenage crush: Which actor/actress did you have a crush on?
Luke Perry in 8 seconds.

3) Bad Choices, Good Outcome: A movie you watched and ended up enjoying, even though you wanted to hate it.
I used to sob at Mrs. Doubtfire when her shirt caught fire, but now it's one of my favorite movies.

4) First Date: When you went on a first date what movie did you see?
The closest thing to a date I have had is I went to go see Grown Ups 2 with a guy friend and his younger brother.

5) Home Comforts: What movie reminds you of time with your family?
The Other Guys, The Proposal, The Blind Side, Mighty Ducks are all movies that have memories tied to them. As well as Miracle, Road to Redemption & Courageous.

6) First Heartbreak: What movie really upset you or hit you more than you thought?
I will cry at just about anything, but the big ones are the poem scene in 10 things I hate about you, the end scenes of 8 seconds, Marley and Me & Turner and Hooch

7) Leaving home: What movie was the first you watched without your family?
Like out on my own after I moved out? I bought a copy of Hope Floats and watched it in my apartment.  It's one of my favorite movies and it was a comfort to watch something familiar.

8) Good Times: What movie do you watch most and why?
Twister & 8 Seconds. Just because they are my favorites and I still love watching them both even I've seen them 1000 times.

9) Learn a new language: What is your favourite non-English language movie?
I don't think I've ever seen a non-English movie.

10) Can't leave the sofa: What series on TV got you hooked?
Grey's Anatomy and Army Wives are the first two shows I remember binge watching, before binge watching was even a thing.

11) Sick day: What movie do you watch if you don't feel well to cheer you up?
Twister, 8 Seconds, 10 Things I Hate About You. I will also binge certain episodes of my favorite shows.

12) Looking to the future: What movies are you looking forward to seeing?
I really want to see Everything, Everything. I also would like to finish Patriot's Day.

13) If only: What old movie do you want to see re-made?
If they did it well, I'd like to see either a Twister sequel or a Twister remake.

14) End of the road: What 3 films do you think you think will always enjoy watching?
Twister, 8 Seconds, and The Proposal.

Tuesday Thoughts.

Well hello, it's been a long while. I have gone back and forth about continuing to blog, but at the moment, I think I will keep at it for at least a little longer. The end of April and May is a period of time that I would prefer not to ever relive again, but I feel like I should document what happened so I can look back and have the whole story and not just the good parts.

I last blogged at the beginning of April. On April 23rd, we lost our Cooper baby very unexpectedly. He was fine one morning and then gone the next.  He had bloat and his stomach twisted, cutting off all blood flow. To say it was one of the hardest things I've gone through in recent years would be a huge understatement.

May was the month of the Urgent Care trips. I was there each of the first three weekends in May. First weekend was because I hit my head at work on a shelf. The second weekend was because I had an ear infection and the third weekend was because I had a possible adverse reaction and/or a possible misprescription of my antibiotic.  So definitely not sad to see the end of April and the month of May go.

My bestest and I also finally bit the bullet and started our bookstagram, @bibliophilebesties, we are keeping it somewhat anonymous, we don't use our full names unless someone were to look at our goodreads accounts, but if you'd like to check it out, come give us a follow!

Yesterday, we became a 2-dog household once again, my Lynn-Mom texted me saying that they "did a thing" well, everyone, meet Ruger!

I'm sure I'll be sharing more about Ruger as the weeks, months and years go on. He's a lab and is currently 7 weeks old. Follow along with the hashtag #ourrugerboy

Glad to be back in the blogging saddle!

Friday Favorites

I am alive and I do still blog here, SHOCKING I KNOW!

I thought to ease myself back into the blogging world, I'd share some of my favorites from the last week.

Linking up with Andrea, Erika & Narci for Friday Favorites!

Sunday was my 25th birthday..how I am already in my mid 20's, I'm not sure, but believe it or not, I am & I'm going to soak up every minute!

I spent the day with my Lynn-Mom, with Mady and her new boyfriend Daniel, joining us for church as well as lunch and shopping in the afternoon.  We've been church shopping for a month or two now and seem to have found at least a (temporary) new home. The music was wonderful, the message was one that I definitely could relate to and the friends that we went with are more like extended members of our family now. Lunch was at TGI Fridays where Mady and Daniel both spoiled me with presents, two new awesome shirts(including the one above), a wooden HOME sign where the O is a cutout of the shape of MN & a new coffee mug.  We then went browsing at TJ Maxx, Kirklands and concluded at HomeGoods. I found a new sign and then decided to pick out a coffee mug tree on Amazon for my presents from my Dad & Lynn-Mom, who also got me a new printer for school, so that was great.

My new coffee nook is my next favorite of the week. Two of my birthday presents are on display here and I love this little area in my kitchen.  #coffeeismybloodtype

I'm attempting the #100dayproject for the second year, last year I kind of fizzled out about two weeks in, so we will see how I do this year! You can find my progress on IG under #meghananna100daysofbujo

Duncan Hines has these new desserts in a mug and they are AH-MAZING!* I bought three different kinds a couple weeks ago and they are a nice way to relax after getting done with work each night!

*Not getting paid to say that, I just love them.

It's Just Smile Day :)

So I just realized thanks to a post by Brett Eldredge, that today is Just Smile Day.

So I thought I'd share a few things that are making me smile on this St. Patrick's Day Friday!

-This. Three straight years of the Meghan&Cooper Spring Break selfie.

A post shared by Meghan Brown (@meghanannablogs) on

-Also the fact that I got an actual picture of Chloe & I together...proof that I do indeed have TWO dogs,,

-A hug from my work momma after not seeing her for a week.

-My new fitbit that I got for a GREAT deal off of a Facebook garage sale site.

-Breakfast with my sister and grandparents.

-Walking around MOA with my sister and her new boyfriend this past Saturday.

-Getting a compliment at work.

-A friend asking if I'd like to go see Ed Sheeran with her in July. We're seeing Tim&Faith together in August, so it'll be a good summer, concert-wise! (this picture is from the last time we saw him together!)

28 February 2017

Questions Asked and Answered.

So I saw these on Sam's blog from last week and I loved the idea, so here they are!

1. What are your nicknames? What do you prefer to be called? Megs, Meg, Miss Meghan, Sassy, Lovebug, Little Bit, Squeezebox. If we aren't close, Meghan is just fine. I have a couple of coworkers that seem to think it's okay to call me Meg or Megs and those are reserved for good friends/family.
2. What books on your shelf are begging to be read? I’m in the middle of the Hidden Cove Firefighters series, I am wanting to read Colleen Hoover's Ugly Love here soon as well.
3. How often do you doodle? What do your doodles look like? I doodle absentmindedly. Usually hearts or random words.
4. What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep? Toss and Turn? Try to get up and do something productive? I read somewhere that if you stay completely still for 15 minutes you will fall asleep. So if I'm having a hard time falling asleep I'll do that. Otherwise I check my phone,
5. How many days could you last in solitary confinement? How would you do it? Not very long. I need music or some sort of sound.
6. Do you save old greeting cards and letters? Throw them away? I save them. I have them saved since I was a baby. I also have a few wedding ones from when my mom and dad got married back in 1990.
7. Who is the biggest pack rat you know? Probably myself. I have a hard time throwing anything away that I've written or brainstormed on.
8. When making an entrance in to a party, do you make your presence known? Do you slip in and look for someone you know? Do you sneak in quietly and find a safe spot to roost? I try and find someone I know.
9. What is your strongest sense? If you had to give one up, which would it be? Hmm. I'd probably give up my sense of smell. Just because, I've lost my sense of smell before so I know it's doable.
10. How many times a day do you look at yourself in the mirror? Mm. I don't know?
11. What is the strangest thing you believed as a child? That someone's half birthday was based upon when their sibling's birthday was. I'm guessing because my brother's birthday is the day after my half birthday. I'm 4/2 and he's 10/3. Different years obviously.
12. What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up? Coffee. Tweeting with GIFs.
13. Who performs the most random acts of kindness out of everyone you know? Hmm. Probably my work momma.
14. How often do you read the newspaper? Which paper? Which sections? I'll usually read the Sunday paper if it's in the breakroom at work. I usually will read the sports and local sections.
15. Which animals scare you most? Why? Spiders
16. Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage it head-on? Depends on who the conflict is with.
17. What was the most recent compliment you’ve received and savoured? When someone tells me they are proud of me or that they love my smile.
18. What is something about yourself that you hope will change, but probably never will? That I cry when I am frustrated.
19. Are you a creature of habit? Explain.Hmm.  Yes and no. I live in organized chaos. And I kind of like it.
20. Are you high maintenance? Explain. Nope.
21. When was the last time you really pushed yourself to your physical limits? The other night at work with my horrible migraine.
22. Do you have a whole lot of acquaintances or just a few very close friends? Why? Both. I consider most of my coworkers acquaintances but I have a very close inner circle.
23. Are you more inclined to “build your own empire” or unleash the potential of others? I think I lean towards unleashing the potential of other.
24. What’s a strange occurrence you’ve experienced but have never (or rarely) shared with anyone? My grandpa who passed away when I was 14, 10 years ago, makes his presence known every once in a while. I get a huge whiff of the scent of pipe tobacco.  I like to believe it's his way of letting me know he's there for me.
25. What do you think about more than anything else? What homework do I have to do today and what can I put off til tomorrow. Am I a good person?
26. What’s something that amazes you? How blessed I am to be surrounded by such an awesome group of people that I consider my family and close friends. We're not perfect but they love big and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

34. What’s your all-time favourite town or city? Why? I want to go to Nashville!
35. What are the top three qualities that draw you to someone new? Sense of Humor, Welcoming mixed with a little crazy.
36. How has your birth order/characteristics of siblings affected you? I’m the oldest but part of a "blended" family, so it gets messy. I'm more outgoing and bossy when I'm not around my family, but I'm probably the quietest of my siblings.
37. If you could eliminate one weakness or limitation in your life, what would it be? The way I worry at times.
38. If you could restore one broken relationship, which would it be? My elementary best friend.
39. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to? Junior high Meghan would say Lizzeth, adult Meghan says I like my name.
40. Do you believe ignorance is bliss? Why or why not? As much as I may say it in the heat of the moment, no, I like knowing what's going on.
41. What do you consider unforgivable? I don't know if anything is truly unforgivable. Intentionally hurting my people over and over is a sure way to find yourself at the top of my shit list though.
42. Have you forgiven yourself for past personal failures? Why or why not? Yes… live and learn.
43. How difficult is it for you to forgive someone who refuses to apologize? Nearly impossible.
44.Do you hold any convictions that you would be willing to die for? I'd die for my faith. At least I say I would, but until I'm in that position I can't say for sure.
45. To what extent do you trust people? Explain. I trust everyone to an extent I think. I trust that not everyone deserves my implicit trust. I trust my work mom, Jayme and my Lynn-Mom the most I think.  Those are the three people who have proven time and again they will be there for me.
46. In what area of your life are you immature? My sense of humor rivals that of a 12 year old boy most days.
47. What was the best news you ever received? That my Grandpa's cancer was gone for a second time.
48. How difficult is it for you to be honest, even when your words may be hurtful or unpopular? I try my hardest to be 100% honest.
49. When did you immediately click with someone you just met? Why? What was the long term result? Conversely, are you close with anyone now that you really disliked at first? My work momma is one of those people that I just clicked with right away. & she's still one of the people that I am closest. She's "my person" so to speak. I'm lucky enough to have 2 "persons"

05 January 2017

Out with 2016 & in with 2017.

I only took five days into the new year to write up the 2016 recap & 2017 look ahead, so that is progress right?

2016 wasn't that huge/life-changing for me as it was for some people and that's okay, because I still managed to have a pretty great year.

78 times I posted here in 2016. 2017, I hope to post here 100 times.

46 new books were read plus countless re-reads in 2016. 2017, I hope to up that number to 75 new books.

In 2016, I finished the photo-a-day for the first time ever, you can find all of my 2016 daily pictures at #meghananna2k16. #meghananna2k17 is my hashtag for the photo-a-day for this year & my goal is to actually post daily and not have to play catch-up like I did so many times in 2016.

In 2016, I went to 9 concerts. I'm hoping I can make it to that many this year as well!

Watching my sister get her LPN lit a fire under my butt and on the 10th, I will start school again going for medical coding!

2016 was a good year, 2017 is shaping up to be another great one.
