Dear vacation,

The only thing between you and I is a simple four and a half hour shift at work.  I can do this!

Dear work,

Is it weird to say I'm kinda gonna miss you when I'm away, not the whole working thing, but my work family thing? I love most of my coworkers!

Dear Michigan,

Pretty please be sunny? Minnesota has been quite cloudy lately, and I just want some vitamin D.

Dear Erin,

Thank you for posting this video, I won't be getting into another tanning bed!

Dear friends,

Please watch the above video, it could save your life.

Have a great weekend loves!

These are a few of my favorite things

You know those things that on any given day, can make you smile and lift your mood a few notches? Your favorite things? Well I thought I'd share a few of my favorite things as of right now...

-like I said yesterday, the way my grandpa comes up behind me and puts his arm around my neck and squeezes just a little.

-the love him and my grandma share 46 years, 3 kids and 11 grandkids later.

-writing.

-iced white chocolate mochas with mint.

-the crooked grin some men have(like George Strait when he sings!)

-the satisfaction I get when I prove somebody wrong!

-going to country concerts

-the relationship my cousin Spencer and I share!

-lazy mornings

-Madyisms

-I'll Always Remember You by George Strait

-buying new pens.

Happy Happy Happy.

Today is a pretty special day in our family, because forty-six years ago, a new chapter of a love story that started in high school was begun, my grandpa and grandma said "I Do."

They are the center of our family and I couldn't chose two more awesome people to be my "step"grandparents.  I say "step" because I've always been a granddaughter and been included.  I've never been made to feel like I'm an outsider and I love that.

They make me want to be a better person, I can't imagine my life without these two amazing people in it.  Whether it's a night playing cards at our house, Christmas dinners at their house, my grandpa's laughter, my grandma's prayers, the way he talks or the way she cooks.  The way my grandpa grabs your neck when he walks up to you and pulls you in closer and the way my grandma's hug feels after they've returned home from a winter stay in Arizona. The way she yells RICHARD! when he's annoyed her in some way, the way he holds her hand & holds open the door for her wherever they go.  My grandma says she got one of the last good ones who can and willingly does anything for her.  She's always telling me I'll never find a man as good as my grandpa.   These things make up just a few of my favorite things about my grandparents and the love they share.

Happy Anniversary to my awesome grandparents I love you guys SO much.
