When I Grow Up I Wanna Be A Kid!

Anyone know the song I'm referencing in my title?  

No? It's off of a Mary-Kate & Ashley MOA movie. 

& that above sentence has made me look like a complete loser.. 

But it does come in handy that this week's Sunday Social has to do with when we were kids!  

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?
The simplicity of everything.  Not having to worry about money.  

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?
My Grandpa called me Meggy, most everyone in my Mom's family called me Megs.  As I grew up through junior high and high school I had a variety of nicknames ranging from Legs to Toilet Seat to Dipstick to TUPAC to anything my sister and I could come up with.  Legs was because my uncle thought that's what my brother called me once, and it stuck, Toilet Seat because Mady was Piddle, Dipstick and Mady was Dumbnut.  & TUPAC? TUPAC stood for Total Utter Piece of Crap ;) Yeah, my sister is so nice, but I call her Princess, so it works.  
3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess? FOUR SQUARE! I loved it!

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?
Shania Twain.  No really I did.  My younger cousin Emily & I were going to be her when we grew up :)

5. What was your favorite toy?
Anything Barney.  Seriously.  I was obsessed from 3 to 5.  Like had every movie, book, stuffed animal, everything.  Even went to a live concert.  Yeah I was that obsessed!

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?
Not my parents, but my Aunt & Uncle remind me of this all the time, it was when my Aunt was dating my Uncle Chris and he was laying on my Barney stuffed animal & I yanked it out from underneath him & bopped him on the head with it.  Nobody messed with my Barney!

I Believe.

Yes, I realize I'm late to this party, once again, but I loved the thought of this, so here I am :)

Tuesday Rambles.

I have nothing of huge substance to say today, so you get a Meghan life update, aren't you all excited?

one-I got a new computer!  It's not a Mac sadly, but I love it! It's a Samsung and it works beautifully! I'm able to do all my schoolwork, and blog and write and do everything without having to worry about it crashing!

two- school is going really good, I'm seriously thinking of doing a post on what exactly I'm going to school for & explaining it all to you guys, because I don't know if you guys understood what court reporting really is.  Anyone interested in learning more about my field?

three- I'm taking my driver's test on November 7th, and I couldn't be more excited!  My Grandpa did a great job teaching me this summer & I am now in love with driving, which is something I never thought I would say.  So good vibes would be great for that!

four- Speaking of grandparents, it was really nice, I got to spend the morning with them one on one Sunday, all three of us went to church and then my Grandpa took me to a "pig roast" otherwise known as pulled pork sandwiches, and I loved it.  My grandparents are just great people!

five- I'm pretty excited, I joined a small group at church, so hopefully I can make some new friends while learning more about God in the process!

six- Had a great Skype date with my best cousin friend Spencer last night! We talked for over an hour about absolutely nothing and it was awesome! He's coming home from school over his fall break in October, so maybe we'll be able to get together for coffee or something :)

 & Why yes, I am jumping on this bandwagon.

& yes, it is quite late to jump on said bandwagon, but what else is new, I've always been more of a better late than never kind of gal :)

So what would you know if you really knew me?

Well,

If you really knew me you, you would know that I take my friends and family very seriously.  They are my number one thing after my faith.  I am very close with both my Mom and Stepdad and my Dad and Stepmom.  

If you really knew me, you would know that my faith makes me who I am.  I am what some might call a Jesus freak.  I try to live my life in a God-pleasing way each and every day.

If you really knew me, you would know that my grandparents are my biggest heroes and I look up to them so much and my biggest fear is losing them.  

If you really knew me, you would know that I am a people pleaser, I want to make everybody happy most of the time, and when I can't, I feel like I let that person down. 

If you really knew me, you would know that I'm a lot more outgoing know than I was in high school, but I still don't have a ton of friends. 

This was like 2008.  We look so young!  

If you really knew me, you would know that my younger (step)sister is my probably my best friend.  She's my closest ally and my biggest confidante.  

If you really knew me, you would know that I always have some sort of music playing, and it's usually country.

1. Tell us what you are looking forward to this fall?

Jeans and hoodies.  Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks.  Enjoying the last warm days before Minnesota Winter is upon us.  Bonfires.  

2. Show us your fall style.

Jeans and hoodies really are all I rock.  It's what I'm comfortable in.  I love my worn in BSU Beavers hoodie and my Maurices fading skinnies.  

3. Tell us your favorite things to do in the fall. If you have children, activities to do with the kids?

I try and spend as much time with my grandparents as I can before they migrate down to Arizona for the winter.  I love baking with my Grandma & Texas Hold 'Em with my Grandpa.  

I love fourwheeling through the falling leaves and just watching the leaves change colors

I love curling up with a good book and my Starbucks cup for a nice cozy reading sesh.  

4. Show us your favorite fall beverage.

Pumpkin Spice anything!! 

5. Tell us, how you will be participating in halloween this year. Plans? Costume ideas? 

I am probably working, so I might dress up for that, but other than that, nothing really too exciting so far!

It's been totally crazy this last week, therefore, I only posted once.  Oh well.  It's Sunday, so that means it's Sunday Social time!

What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?

Definitely going up to the lake over the fourth of July with my cousins and my aunt and uncle's family & then going to Knoxville to see the Knoxville Nationals & I totally don't know if this counts as an activity, but getting our puppy Chloe!

Favorite outfit look/clothing item for the summer?

Lynn got me a Golden Gophers and also a Twins distressed tee and I love them!

What is one thing you had gotten to do this summer?

I wish I would have been able to head up to our family's other cabin! 

Favorite song of the summer?

Pontoon by Little Big Town & Come Over by Kenny Chesney!
